Introduction

Have you ever seen the TED talk “The 3 A’s of awesome”? The famous Canadian blogger shares three secrets to discovering the small pleasures that make life feel rich (Awesome!) and to living the best life possible. This presentation makes us think about how to face the uncertain future and the importance of looking at things positively rather than negatively. Incidentally, the other day I received a newsletter from the secretariat of the Japanese Society for Pharmacokinetics that the Impact Factor of DMPK for 2020 is 3.614. (When I saw it, I couldn’t help saying, “Awesome! The 36th Annual Meeting will be held from November 16 to 19, 2012, with Dr. Takuo Ogihara of Takasaki University of Health and Welfare as the President. Unfortunately, we have decided to hold the meeting completely online again this year, but you can still register in advance, including short courses, until October 1. We are looking forward to this new challenge of interactive discussions via the web, and we hope you will have a chance to meet awesome presentations at this year’s annual meeting. (N.M.)

Introduction of Special Feature Articles

NEW FACE – NEW POWER

NEW FACE – NEW POWER” is intended to provide an opportunity for our members to get to know new and young professors who are expected to be very active in the future, regardless of industry or academia, and to bring new vitality and stimulation to our society. We would like to ask the authors to introduce themselves, including their personal history, and to write frankly and actively about their research prospects, expectations and suggestions for the society and our field. All of you are expected to be stars of hope for the future of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. We hope that this corner will foster a “culture of fostering new young power throughout the society” and help the mutual development of new and old members. Please send your suggestions for articles to the editorial board members.
